Roger Waters slammed for displaying anti-Semitic pig balloon at recent gig

Washington, July 26 : Pink Floyd's Roger Waters has landed in hot water with Jewish community after putting up an anti-Semitic display at a recent concert.

According to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, the incident happened last Saturday at Belgium concert when a giant, pig-shaped balloon that was emblazoned with the Star of David, as well as other dictatorial symbols, dropped from the ceiling while Waters was performing, the Huffington Post reported.

The 69-year-old musician's dress reportedly consisted of a long leather jacket and red-and-white arm band, which was 'reminiscent of a Nazi uniform.'

He was also reported to be carrying a fake machine gun.

The Simon Wiesenthal Center, a global Jewish human rights organization, believes that Waters' intent was prejudiced.

Rabbi Abraham Cooper, a dean at the center, said that the pig was a disgusting medieval anti-Semitic caricature which had been widely used by both Nazi and Soviet propaganda to incite hatred against all the Jews in the world.

Cooper in an email to Jewish and Israel-related news outlet The Algemeiner, said that the display showed that Waters hates Jews.
