Man arrested for raping daughters for 20 yrs

Bharatpur, July 18 : In a shocking incident, a 62-year-old retired government employee from Bharatpur in Rajasthan has been arrested for allegedly raping his two daughters since their teens, reports said on Thursday.

After suffering for about 20 years, the two sisters have finally revealed the truth and lodged a police complaint on Tuesday after their father tried to misbehave with one of the sisters' three-year-old daughter.

The sisters also alleged that their mother was aware of her husband's act but kept silent over the years.

She has been arrested as well.

"We had told our mother about the abuse. But what kind of a mother is she? Today we have our own daughters. Let anybody dare raise a finger on them. Both our parents should be punished," one of the women told media.

According to reports, the sisters underwent abortions as a result of their father's assault. Infact, the eldest one had to abort 10 days before her marriage.

"He used to show the girls pornography and then rape the two daughters. He even took them to places like Jaipur and Agra in the name of outings. He booked them into hotels and then raped them,"said Anshuman Bhumiya, Superintendent of Police, Bharatpur.

"He told them if they resisted, he would do the same to their younger siblings. The mother also knew of the crime but she took their father's side," he added.

The police are now probing whether the accused tried to rape the three-year-old child.
