Ankit Metal and Power to open new plant

Kolkata, Apr 3 : Ankit Metal and Power Ltd, a part of the Rs 4000 crore SKP Group, is coming up with a new Steel, Pellet and Power plant at Jorehira in West Bengal's Bankura district as a part of backward integration.


The plany is made at an investment of Rs 408.45 crore.

"In a country where production and manufacturing industry is facing tough challenges due to shortage of power, the captive power plant will definitely boost the production capacity of the company. Once the plant is operational, it would generate about 3000 employment, direct and indirect, in our state," said Ankit Patni, Managing Director, Ankit Metal and Power Ltd.

The plant will produce 45 MW of captive power, .6 million ton of Pellet, 100 thousands ton of Wire rods, 30 TPD Sponge Iron, RM Pre Heater and AOD Converter. The expected turnover of the company by the end of 2013-14 is Rs 2000 crore.
