Gujarat Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) strongman Narendra Modi, who arrived in Odisha on Tuesday, visited Lord Jagannath temple here and offered his prayer to the deity.


"Wonderful being in the beautiful state of Odisha. Blessed to offer prayers at Lord Jagannath Temple in Puri," Modi tweeted on Tuesday.

Speaking on the relationship between his state and Odisha, he said: "I thank people of Odisha for their warm welcome. Have been discussing about the strong bond between Gujarat and Odisha with friends here."

Modi said: "Thanks to the skilled manpower and the traditional aesthetic sense of Odisha's artisans who have made Surat's textile the best in the World."

From Odisha, the BJP leader is scheduled to go to Nagpur to meet Mohan Bhagwat, chief of BJP's ideological patron Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
