Modi in Odisha, to pray to Jagannath

Bhubaneswar, July 16 : Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday morning reached Odisha capital Bhubaneswar on a "non-political visit".

He is scheduled to visit Puri to seek blessings of Lord Jagannath and meet seer Puri Shankaracharya.

Before leaving for Odisha, Modi tweeted in Hindi, which when translated, read: "I am leaving to go from the land of Somnath to the land of Jagannath."

In another Hindi tweet, he said: "I will pray to Lord Jagannath that he gives peace to the souls of all those who died in Uttarakhand, and will also pray that all missing people are re-united with their respective families soon."

From Odisha, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) strongman is scheduled to go to Nagpur to meet Mohan Bhagwat, chief of BJP's ideological patron Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
