More men end relationships through text messages than women

Washington, July 12 : Men are more likely to end their relationships via text messages, as compared to women, a new survey has revealed.

The poll conducted by WhatsYourPrice.com, an online dating site that allows users to buy and sell first dates, has found that 88 percent of men have broken up with someone over text message, compared to only 18 percent of women, the Huffington Post reported.

The site, which surveyed 7,500 of its male members and 8,300 of its female members, suggested that 71 percent of men have dumped someone over the phone, compared to 43 percent of women.

Around 72 percent of women preferred breaking up in person, compared to 47 percent of men.

It was also found that only eight percent of men have ever broken up with someone through social media, but 32 percent of women have used social platforms like Facebook and Twitter to end their relationships.
