Actor John Abraham joins UK boxer David Haye to promote Mumbai gym

Mumbai, June 27 : Bollywood actor John Abraham and former British boxing champion David Haye have joined hands to launch a gym franchise in Mumbai.

"We just want to concentrate on a flagship gym that would be one of the finest in the world and that would offer anybody who went in there something more than just fitness. We are talking about nutrition, which Chris's (trainer) company Nutrition by Design is going to provide, we are going to talk about training that David's boxing, Chris's exercising techniques, etc are going to provide," said Abraham.

His partner Haye already has a gym in Dubai and now will be opening one in India in Mumbai. Abraham added that he wants to learn and train from Haye.

The two are even planning to make a movie on boxing.

On the occasion, Haye praised Indian women boxing champion Mary Kom.

"Definitely, the mental side of boxing is very important but how you get mentally strong is to be physically strong. If I wasn't physically strong getting into the ring I probably be mentally weak. So I need to know that all the training is being done correctly, my nutrition is done greatly, my physiotherapy everything is all great, my body is in a good state. So when I walk into the ring I know that I am going to win the final, I can perform at my optimum. So having mental strength is very important but you only get that by making sure that the physical is right," said Haye.

Haye is a British professional boxer and is also a former World Boxing Association (WBA) heavyweight champion.

The gym will be called Hayemaker JA fitness centre.
