Champions Pune FC U-20s feted

Pune, Mar 29 : The victorious Pune FC Under-20 I-League squad received a warm welcome by Pune FC Director Nandan Piramal at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Mhalunge-Balewadi, on Thursday.

At a simple function organized during half-time of the Pune FC-Dempo SC Round-22 encounter, the Under-20s were greeted individually by Piramal. And as a token of appreciation the entire 30-man squad and officials were handed a rose each.

Addressing the players, Nandan Piramal said: "It's a great occasion for all of us at Pune FC. Two titles in successive years is a big feat."

While the players showed off the winner's trophy and medals, the team took a lap of honour around the stadium, which was greeted with applause from every stand.

Later, the victorious Under-20s players lined up and were greeted by the senior team players and officials as they trooped out for the second session.

Also present for the function was Chirag Tanna, Head Operations, Pune FC.

The only absentee was Ranjan Chowdhury, Head of Youth Development, Peninsula Pune Football Club Academy (PPFCA).
