Pop icon Usha Uthup on Tuesday released 21-year-old Nikhita Gandhi's debut album on Nazrulgeeti (songs of Kazi Nazrul) in Kolkata heaping praise on the singer for her delicate voice quality.

The album, 'Kotha' by the budding talent reflects her childhood initiation in Hindustani Classical music as she tried to capture her own personal spin on the beloved Nazrulgeetis.

The album is produced by Asha Audio Company.

"I am really spellbound with Nikhita's work, it is so delicately done. I am really really touched by her songs. I was her age when I started singing, but had no stage like this, no music equipment like this and even no audience. I will like to thank Asha Audio for standing with Nikhita," said Usha Uthup, the Padmashee and Filmfare winning singer.

Along with singer Nikhita Gandhi, Dr Uday Veer Gandhi (father of Nikhita Gandhi), a dental surgeon also made her debut through this album.

"We are delighted to come out with this soulful musical album which will enchant the listeners. These soulful songs are outstandingly soothing in Nikhita's melodious voice. The tranquility in the tracks coupled with her mellifluous voice will transfer the listeners to a different level altogether," said Mahua Lahiri, Director of Asha Audio Company.

Next month Nikhita will be taking to the international stage as she performs from this album at the annual North American Bengali
Conference.
