LFW: Naeem Khan presents ultra-glam collection

Mumbai, Mar 26 : International couturier Naeem Khan dazzled the audience with his ultra-glam collection at Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Summer/Resort 2013 to end Day Two.

The superb line of outfits specially selected for the evening, had sensuous dresses, sophisticated gowns as well as amazingly crafted and visualised separates, which had Naeem's impeccable cut, finish and tailoring.

Exhibiting his in-depth knowledge of embroidery, textiles along with the restrained art of draping and fabric cutting, Naeem proved that each creation on the ramp was a stunning offering to women of elegant taste.

Keeping the silhouettes simple, but allowing the intricate constructions and embellishments to take centre stage, Naeem opened the show with an eye-catching black/white embellished evening wear line of superb gowns and dresses.

The high collars and bodices glittered with crystals, the coat gown in black and white with fur cuffs, the knotted lungi creation with embroidered bodice, the fully encrusted gown, beaded black floor kissing creation, the chiffon drop waist ensemble with a sexy plunge neck and the embroidered cape gown showed Naeem's expertise in designing one of a kind pieces.

Skinny pants appeared under wrap skirts and were teamed with crystal covered boleros while embellished cape gowns glided on the runway.

Moving into a more semi formal mode, there were printed dresses and sheaths in smudgy blue/black/white prints and another option with brown florals for shifts, double breast jackets and gathered mini skirt.

The two fiery red entries - draped gown with trail and a batwing blouson alternative with bead work created a striking relief from the subdued colours.

Velvet played a major role in the next section for a blue and gold gown, maroon short batwing cover and floor length coat with antique work made an impressive entry.

The fully encrusted rhinestone gown, the Grecian draped cowl creation with a beaded cummerbund, the backless slinky number and the ivory satin entry with crystal/pearl bodice confirmed that when it comes to embroidery there is no one superior to Naeem Khan.

The final creation of the evening was a surprise - a multi striped draped beauty with generous folds was a dramatic end to the show.
