Stating that series whitewash was the toughest he had encountered in his entire coaching career coupled with the suspension of four players during the tour, Arthur, however, hoped that the entire fiasco was the foundation for something positive, the Herald Sun reports.
Arthur further said that although the team could have comfortably carried on and been content with staying in the no.3 position in the world, the players wanted to give themselves the best opportunity to be back in the No.1 position.
Arthur also said that for that, he and the team management have agreed on some ideas and techniques which may get the team to being in the topmost position in the world in just two years.
Mentioning the suspension of vice-captain Shane Watson, Mitchell Johnson, Usman Khawaja and James Pattinson from the third Test for failing to complete a simple homework assignment, Arthur said that the punishments were a line in the sand moment that had galvanised the team.
