Pakistan human right panel lauds voters

Islamabad, May 11 : The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) Saturday congratulated the people of the country for showing faith in democracy despite threats to their lives.


In a statement issued after the conclusion of polling‚Euroö the commission condemned all those responsible for interfering with the people's right to vote, state-run Radio Pakistan reported.

The HRCP expressed hope that those elected will honour the principles of democracy with the same zeal and commitment that the Pakistani people displayed during balloting.
