Rupal Tyagi dons a Rs 5 lakh lehenga

Mumbai, May 8 : Television actress Rupal Tyagi will be seen donning a Rs 5 lakh lehenga for a wedding sequence in Zee TV's serial 'Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke'.

"This lehenga is worth it's weight in gold. Literally!" says Rupal, as she struggles to make her way back to her make-up room to change her costume.

The actress, playing the role of Gunjan in Zee TV's hit primetime show, 'Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke', is shooting for her character's wedding. No sooner has the director yelled 'pack-up' than Rupal rushes to change out of her costume.

To shoot for her wedding scene, Rupal is decked in exquisite bridal finery with a heavy gold lehenga that is adorned with zardozi, silver and kundan work.

With a delicately embroidered skirt that catches the light as she moves, Rupal looks every bit the radiant bride.

But as it is with most brides these days, she needs a hand to help her move from one place to another given that the work on her lehenga is so intricate and ornate that it weighs her down.

When asked how she is managing to hold up shooting with such an elaborate costume under the scorching Naigaon heat, her reply is a prompt: "No problem at all! Yes, this lehenga probably weighs as much as I do considering the difficulty I am having to move around in it! (laughs) But it is all in good fun, so why should I complain!"

"Most girls would give an arm and a leg to be in my place. While other girls my age dream of wearing a gorgeous lehenga on their wedding day, I get to wear all these lovely clothes not just on my wedding but as a part of my work too! So as an actress, I'm lucky to live out my wedding day over and over again. Talk about having my cake and eating it too!" says Rupal.
