Deborah Anderson's new book and film 'Aroused' reveal secret lives of porn stars

New York, May 05 : Director Deborah Anderson, a celeb and fashion photographer, whose work has graced the pages of everything from Vanity Fair to Playboy, has described her new photo book and documentary- Aroused- as "an under-the-covers view of women in the porn industry."

The book looks at how the porn actors, often deemed victims or fringe performers, see themselves, the New York Daily reported.

Superstar Kayden Kross told the publication that she didn't get into porn because she was desperate, but because she was bored.

She said she had an education, and nothing else appealed to her like this. She added that she likes money, perks and also the sex.

Kross said that she was always a very sexual person and this offered her an opportunity to make a pretty good living using that.

Allie Haze, who likes Kross has risen to the top of her profession, agrees saying that porn stars, aside from being open about sexuality, 'aren't that different from other people.'

She said that what they do is so out of the normal comfort zone, but they work with people who can appreciate what they are doing and enjoy it just as much.

Haze said that adult performers are always interested in being seen and heard by mainstream audiences. She said that she is always open and honest and is not afraid to say anything about her sexuality.

The porn star added that she talks about this stuff all the time and the only difference with 'Aroused' is that a whole new audience could learn something from them.

Meanwhile, Anderson told the publication that she was impressed by the strong women she encountered in a world normally associated with small brains and big implants.

The director, who interviewed 16 of the top female names in porn, got them to reveal much about their lives, dreams and struggles.

And to keep things interesting, each of the women shot her interview nude, save for a pair of high heels.

Anderson said that she wanted to trim away their peacock feathers and show the real girls underneath.
