Goa assembly congratulates Indian cricket team

Panaji, March 25 : The Goa state legislative assembly Monday congratulated the Indian cricket team for inflicting a crushing 4-0 defeat on Australia in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy series.

"The Indian cricket team led by M.S. Dhoni has created history with this complete rout of Australia, which is also a cricketing superpower," ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member Vishnu Wagh said.

Leader of Opposition Pratapsing Rane also spoke on the occasion and said that while the Indian cricket team deserved the highest accolades, Goa should promote cricket in a big way to ensure that they are represented in the national team.

With Sunday's win at the Ferozeshah Kotla, the Dhoni-led team won all four-Test matches against the Aussie team.
