Hockey: India hold Germany to 3-3 draw

New Delhi, Jan 13 : After conceding two consecutive defeats, India won their first point at the Hockey World League (HWL) Final by managing a draw against Germany here on Monday.

India and Germany managed to score 3-3 in the match.

India managed to take an initial lead via an own-goal by the Germans in the 19th minute.

In the 24th minute, Oliver Korn scored the equiliser for the opponents.
Rupinderpal Singh's penalty-corner conversion ensure India finished the first half of the game with a slender lead of 2-1.

An own goal from Indian side helped the Germans reach 2-2.

India showed another spirited performance to move up 3-2 as Dharamvir Singh scored for the hosts in the 52nd minute of the game.

Thilo Stralkowski field goal in the 68th minute equalised the score 3-3.

England continued their dream run continued as they defeated New Zealand 5-1 in another Pool A match on Monday to remain unbeaten in the tournament.

In Pool B, Australia beat Argentina 6-1 while Netherlands and belgium drew 2-2.

India will face Australia in the quarterfinals on Wednesday.
