"I am speaking as an individual citizen of the nation. Are we not looking for stability and order? For me there is only one program that is stability, order and growth because chaos suits groups; it does not lead to stability," said Bedi.
"We have a tested and experienced alternative and somebody who can deliver. Today it is the time for a stable and progressive government and we have BJP as an alternative because Modi has ideas and he speaks from his experiences and I am speaking as an independent voter," she said.
She further said that voting for Congress supported groups would lead to backdoor entry of Congress.
"Congress gave Jan Lokpal two years late. If we bring Congress supported group, they will enter from the back door," she said.
"Modi is a clear alternative today. We are not going blind folded; we will see that he is accountable. Modi has ideas and when he speaks it seems others need schooling," she added.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy on Friday had said that Bedi should be invited to join the party.
"We should invite Kiran Bedi and Gen VK Singh to join BJP," Swamy said.
The reactions from Swamy came hours after Bedi openly raised her voice in support of BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
Bedi said that her vote would go for Modi in order to have a stable, well-governed and inclusive country.
She wrote on Tweeter, "For me it is India First! stable, well governed, administered, accountable and inclusive. As an independent voter, my vote is for NaMo."
In October 2013, while delivering a speech in Ahmedabad, she had backed Modi.
"The man is delivering and has brought good development in Gujarat. His nomination (as BJP's PM candidate) brings more clarity among voters to make their choices," she had said.
