2022 World Cup to be played in winter?

Paris, Jan 8 : FIFA general secretary Jerome Valcke on Wednesday said 2022 World Cup, which will be held in Qatar, will be played in winter.

"I think it will be played between November 15 and January 15 the latest," Valcke was quoted as saying to France Inter Radio.

FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter had earlier said that decision on the scheduling of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar will not be made until after the 2014 World Cup.

The World Cup will he staged in Brazil this year from June 12 to July 13.
