'Jain Jalsa' - cookery show dedicated to Jain cuisine

Mumbai, Jan 7 : Zee Khana Khazana, a 24-hour food channel, has initiated a show dedicated to Jain cuisine called "Jain Jalsa".

It went on air Monday and Chef Gautam Mehrishi is hosting the show, which is an attempt to present Jain food in a new avatar and debunk all myths about the cuisine being bland and stereotyped as the recipes do not include onion or garlic.

Mehrishi will adapt international cuisines like Japanese and Mediterranean to a Jain palate and project a healthy, fun way of enjoying the dishes.

"Jain Jalsa" will come thrice a week - Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 12 p.m.
