Priyanka's attendance at crucial Congress strategy meet sparks off buzz

New Delhi, Jan.7: Attending a Congress strategy meeting at her brother Rahul Gandhi's 12, Tughlaq Lane residence, Priyanka Gandhi on Tuesday created a buzz about a possible rejig of the party organization.

The meeting was attended by several top Congress leaders, including Jairam Ramesh and Ahmed Patel. Rahul Gandhi was not present at the meeting.

Congress leader Janardhan Dwivedi, however, downplayed Priyanka's presence at the meeting, and said: "Priyanka Gandhi is a member of an important political family. She may not be seen participating in active politics, but she has been an active member of the Indian National Congress. She has been engaged in electoral work in Amethi and Rae Bareili, and is still continuing to do so."

"She has her own views on political issues. From time to time, she has engaged in discussions with party workers. It is not surprising if she has had discussions with senior members of the party," he added.

The meeting comes days before the All India Congress Committee (AICC) meets.
