Nine killed in Pakistan blast

Peshawar, Jan 6 : At least nine people were killed in a blast at a house in Pakistan's northwestern Khyber tribal region on Monday, media reports said.

"The explosion hit the house of Hakeem Khan Akakhel, a tribal elder in a remote village in Khyber's Tirah valley, close to the Afghan border," Dawn News reported quoting officials.

The deceased included three children.

Officials are trying to ascertain the exact nature of the blast.
