Keys is expected to leave from her position in the company on January 30.
According to Cnet, Keys didn't have any perceptible influence on BlackBerry's product or marketing offerings and reportedly appeared at a few events and participated in the launch of a scholarship program designed to attract more young women to science and technology.
Meanwhile, BlackBerry said that the company enjoyed the opportunity to work with such an incredibly talented and passionate individual.
BlackBerry recently cancelled its annual Live conference, apart from two smartphones before their launch, to better focus on other projects under the leadership of new CEO John Chen.
