U2 to be honoured with 'Sonny Bono Visionary Award'

Washington, December 31 : Irish rock band U2 are set to be honoured with the Sonny Bono Visionary Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival.


The award, which has been earlier given to directors Danny Boyle and Quentin Tarantino, will be given to the band for their unparalleled humanitarian work against extreme poverty, disease, and social injustice, Contactmusic reported.

Sandra Bullock, Bruce Dern and Tom Hanks will also be honoured at the 25th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival, which will be held in California.
