According to, O'Keeffe announced on air during the second day of the MCG Test that his time has now come to retire as a commentator from Test matches so that someone else can now have 'a crack' at his place.

Stating that he is feeling 'his age', O'Keeffe further said that he 'did not have a bean' when he started and was 'virtually unemployed' doing casual jobs.

O'Keeffe spent 13 years as an expert commentator with the ABC, the report added.
