Working zealously to strengthen ties with India: Sharif

Islamabad, Dec 27 : Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Friday said Pakistan is working zealously towards strengthening its relations with its neighbours, including India and Afghanistan.

Sharif said Pakistan wants to promote peaceful and friendly relations with international community, particularly with its neighbours to ensure peace and progress in the region, the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported.

Addressing a function marking the inauguration of a new block of the foreign office building here, Sharif said Pakistan is playing its due role in promoting regional and international peace and enhancing mutual cooperation through its Foreign Office.

The prime minister said the new government is focusing on a four-point agenda, which includes weeding out terrorism, revival of economy, overcoming energy crisis and promoting trade at international level instead of getting aid.

"We are committed to further expanding our strategic ties with China and rebuilding relations with the US on the basis of mutual respect and equality besides further strengthening ties with Islamic countries," he said.
