Manish Tewari mourns acid attack victim's death

Ludhiana, Dec 27 : Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari on Friday expressed grief over the demise of the 22-year-old acid attack victim who breathed her last at National Burns Centre in Mumbai after battling for life for 20 days.

The victim was attacked while she was getting ready for her marriage in a Ludhiana beauty parlour on Dec 7.

The Minister demanded that those responsible for this heinous act must be tried in a fast track court in a time bound manner and handed over exemplary punishment for the brutal crime they committed.

Expressing grief over her death, Tewari said, "It was unfortunate that the young victim could not survive."

The Minister said as a parent himself he could feel the trauma and pain of the girl's parents' about the loss of their daughter who while getting ready for her marriage was handed over a brutal fate in a most inhuman and barbaric manner.
