'The Hobbit' tops Christmas Day box office with $9.3m earnings

Washington, Dec. 27 : 'The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug' beat 'The Wolf of Wall Street' by just a whisker by collected 9.3 million dollars during Christmas.


Paramount's newcomer 'The Wolf of Wall Street' came second, with $9.2 million gross, Fox News reported.

'Anchorman 2' grabbed the third spot with 8.1-million-dollar earnings while Fox's 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty' landed in forth place with 7.8 million dollars.

Universal's '47 Ronin' made 7 million dollars and Warner's 'Grudge Match' made 4 million dollars.
