Lyon says Oz can have 'real party' if they whitewash England 5-0 in Ashes

Sydney, Dec 24 : Australian spinner Nathan Lyon has said that Australia's real celebrations would only begin if they can whitewash England 5-0 in the Ashes series.


Although Lyon believes it is great to have the Ashes under their belts, he however, said that that they can have a real party when they get the urn if they whitewash England 5-0.

According to News.com.au, Lyon said that the victory has not actually sunk in as they have not yet received the urn, adding that he hopes that the team receives the iconic Ashes prize after they completely whitewash England.

Stating that they have got a lot of work to do as a team, Lyon also said that they want to get to number one Test ranking in the world for which they need to keep working hard, adding that he is pumped to be playing in the Boxing Day Test after leading the team song after three consecutive victories.

Meanwhile, Lyon said that he believes Australia will be boosted by the absence of fellow off-spinner Graeme Swann from the England team after his shock retirement.
