Bengal to begin village road construction Jan 7

Kolkata, Dec 23 : In a bid to increase connectivity to villages, the West Bengal government plans to simultaneously begin construction of roads in all 3,354 village panchayats Jan 7, the panchayat minister said Monday.


Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Subrata Mukherjee said each gram panchayat will be connected by a road, as per the plan.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will flag-off the venture by laying the foundation stone of one of the roads in a village.
