Kolkata hosts "The Kids Children's Carnival 2013"

Kolkata, Dec 21 : Genius Kids School in association with Save The Children and Saisikha Charitable Trust are organizing the Kolkata edition of "The Kids Children's Carnival 2013" for the first time from Saturday.


The events will be held from Dec 21 to Dec 22 at Jatra Suru Sangha Ground.

The carnival was inaugurated with much fanfare by Debasish Kumar, MMIC (Parks) Kolkata Municipal Corporation, Alokananda Roy, Danseuse, Shikha Singh, Educationist & Social worker, Sumana Singh, Social Entrepreneur and Principal Genius Kids, Mainak Bhaumik, Director, Purbayan Chatterjee, Sitarist, Sidhu Singer, Zinnia Mukherjee, Film Actress among others.

"Children are the most innocent beings in this world, and on such a festive season, it is truly unfortunate that some of them don't even get the basic amenities like food, clothing etc. So at this carnival we wanted to do something more, share our good fortune with the others. There will be many sessions to deliberate on the various issues of Child abuse & in promoting holistic remedies of child development, while percolating the responsibilities of every citizen's across all sections of the society at large" said Vikash Kumar Singh, Chairman, Kids Carnival Committee'13 & Trustee, Saisikha Charitable Trust.

The Carnival Committee'13 felicitated Alokananda Roy, acclaimed danseuse cum social worker at the inaugural function for her exemplary contribution towards social upliftment.

This social event will also award free scholarships, free books, educational stationeries and clothes to the less privileged.

The carnival will have a lot of events like, Drawing Competition, Sports Competition, Magic and Puppet Shows, Baby Show etc.
