'No boy has fallen for my smile ever' : Parineeti Chopra

Parineeti Chopra plays a 'mad scientist' in Hasee Toh Phasee. TWF correspondent Sreya Basu chats up with the actress on her latest film in Mumbai.

Since you are doing Hasee Toh Phasee, tell us how many boys have you floored since school days with your smile?

I am a flop show. No boy has ever fallen for my smile. It holds true even today.

What about your co-star Sidharth Malhotra?

In Sid's case when he smiles, girls phas jati hai, unlike what happens normally that a girl traps a boy with her smile. For Sid, it's just the opposite, even on the sets. And he just roams around acting modest.

It is said you overshadow the male leads in your films with your acting and energy.

It is not true. I don't overshadow anyone. It is all media speculation ... bakwas.

You have experimented with your look in Hasee Toh Phasee. It must be very exciting for you?

Absolutely. And I can assure you that when you will see the film you will get to know a whole world of madness that's the film is all about. There is a big surprise for the audience.

What is your role in the film?

I wish I could tell you in detail. It's the role of a scientist who is actually a little mad. It is a role that I have never seen on the screen.

You are seen talking very fast in the trailer of the film? Did you take training for that?

No, no ... it comes very naturally to me.

How much similarity is there between your real life character and reel life character in the film?

Almost no similarity. I had to do a lot of acting in Hasee Toh Phasee. The only thing I could draw upon was the energy that I have in my life and what was required for my character in the film. I had to undergo workshops and it took me about 15-20 days to be absolutely ready before going to the set to shoot. It was quite technical to play this role.

You endorse gadgets and apps like Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and WeChat. Are you a gadget freak?

I am an absolute gadget freak. I shop from Cromā (Indian retail chain for consumer electronics and durables) all the time.

What do you look at while buying a phone - look or features?

I am very particular when it comes to choosing a phone. I see if it initially appeals to me and then see what it has to offer ... it is totally about quality.

You have lost oodles of weight. How did you do that?

See, I am losing weight because I have become very busy in life. I have to work so hard that I don't have time to sit at home and eat a lot of food. That is why I am not getting fat. But yes, now I can see that people are commenting that I am losing better these days. So I want this to continue.

Share some beauty tips with us.

First, sleep well for at least eight hours a day. Drink a lot of water, moisturize your face well, be happy from inside and eat good food.
