People want us to form govt: AAP

New Delhi, Dec 21 : Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday said people of Delhi want them to form the government.

"We are holding public meetings to seek people's opinion. People across several constituencies said they want us to form the government," said AAP leader Manish Sisodia.

"But there are several constituencies where meetings are yet to be held. If the verdict is same there as well, we will form the government," he said.

"The decision will be made on Monday," said Sisodia.

The AAP is likely to form a government in Delhi with the Congress, said reports on Friday.

"The decision to form a minority government backed by Congress, which has eight MLAs, is driven by the overwhelming response from people who want AAP to assume power in Delhi and deliver effective governance," reported Economic Times.

"We will take a final call after our ward meetings through the weekend, but there is an overwhelming support and pressure from people," Kejriwal told the newspaper.

The just-over-a-year-old party led by Kejriwal emerged as the second biggest outfit with 28 seats, falling only a few seats short of the right wing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and allies who managed 32 seats.

BJP is four short of a majority in the 70-member Delhi assembly. Congress managed only 8 seats.
