Oz media says 'pathetic' England 'on track' to produce worst Ashes performance ever

Sydney, Dec 19 : The Australian media has said that the 'current outfit' of 'pathetic' England shows that they are on track to produce their worst Ashes performance ever just five months ago they lampooned the touring Australian side as one of the worst Ashes teams ever.

According to News.com.au, statistics are showing that England is tracking behind the 2006-07 and 1920-21 mobs - the only England teams to get whitewashed 5-0 on Australian shores, whereas in sharp contrast, Australian batsmen have averaged 46.28 in this series so far, which is their sixth-highest in an Ashes series.

The report also said that such numbers do not lie and show how bad the current England side is going, adding that the defeat is one of the most chastening ever suffered by England and one of the most chest-thumping Australian Ashes wins.

The report also said that England desperately needs to win one of the remaining two Tests - or even cling on for a draw - or else they would be the worst Ashes side ever.
