PIL filed against film 'Hanuman.com'

Kolkata, Dec 17 : Even after the film released, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed against Bengali film 'Hanuman.com' saying the name of the film is provocative and offensive to the religious sentiments of millions of devotees of Lord Hanuman.

The petitioner, Balaji Jagaran Mandal & ANR, a devotional organization has filed the PIL against Bajoria Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., the Central Board of Film Certification, film distributer Piyali Films and director Guarav Pandey for the movie Hanuman.com.

The hearing will take place on Wednesday at Kolkata High Court. The PIL will be heard by a double bench of Justice Ashim Banerjee and Joymalya Bagchi.

According to the petitioner, the PIL has been filed as the title of the movie, which now bears the name "Hanuman.com", is provocative and offensive to the religious sentiments of millions of devotees of Lord Hanuman throughout the world.

The film was released on Dec 6 starring Tollywood superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee in the lead role.
