Manoj Kothari, National Coach for Billiards, Shyam Sunder Agarwal, President, Hindustan Club, Shiv Kumar Lohia, Secretary, Hindustan Club, Pankaj Jain, Chairman (Sports Committee), Hindustan Club and Rajesh Tulsian, Tournament Director, Hindustan Club were also present.
Pankaj Jain took pride in saying that since India's participation in cue sports, India has bagged above 30 titles in snooker.
Manoj Kothari, the former Snooker Champion drew the attention by introducing the Padmasree Snooker genius Pankaj Advani and Aditya Mehta , the first ever Indian to reach the final of a professional Snooker tournament in 2013, on the dais.
Pankaj Advani said that Kolkata has been a rich hub for snookers as he referred to the former champion Kothari.
He added that this championship will bring scope for youngsters to learn the game better.
Aditya Mehta raised expectations that such championships will raise the benchmark for aspiring Indian snooker players.
Sourav Kothari admired the determination for which the game has reached its standard at present.
The formal inauguration was followed by the shot session hosted by Pankaj Advani and Aditya Mehta.
