Parties want to fake Lokpal Bill before 2014 elections: Kumar Vishwas

Ghaziabad, (Uttar Pradesh), Dec. 15 : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kumar Vishwas said on Sunday that political parties wanted to fake a Lokpal Bill before the 2014 elections to show they have done their job.

"All political parties are bent on passing the Lokpal Bill suddenly to show they have done their job before the 2014 elections," said Kumar

"Rahul Gandhi suddenly remembered in these three years that there should be a Lokpal bill. Even Arun Jaitley said that no matter how many people object to it, they would pass the Lokpal Bill. In fact even Mayawati said that such a bill should be passed immediately," he said.

Congress Party leaders Rahul Gandhi, P. Chidambaram and Kapil Sibal said on Saturday that they were fully committed to passing the Lokpal Bill.

Addressing the media, Union Finance Minister P.Chidambram said the Bill would help to maintain transparency in all the departments and areas.

Responding to that, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Arun Jaitley had said that the Congress Party is trying very hard, but must not claim credit for the passing the Lokpal Bill.

Furthermore, he had said he wanted the bill to be passed on Monday under all circumstances.

"I just have a message for the Congress Party. Don't get proceedings disturbed through your allies and supporting parties. Let's pass this Bill on Monday. It will be better if discussions are held," he said.
