Sony Pictures announces two spinoff films of 'Spider-Man'

Washington, Dec. 14 : The 'Spider-Man' franchise will soon have two spinoff films, titled 'Venom' and 'Sinister Six', under its banner, Sony Pictures has confirmed.

The creative team of the production house, including writers Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner, Ed Solomon and Drew Goddard, has teamed up with director Marc Webb on the films, CBS News reported.

The projects will be produced by Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach, who had worked on Webb-helmed 'The Amazing Spider-Man'.

While 'The Sinister Six' will revolve around the group of evil characters from the Marvel comics, 'Venom' will be centered on the iconic super-villain.
