Time to indulge in Oriental food

Kolkata, Dec 14 : Every season brings a reason to the city food buffs to indulge in the affairs of the taste buds and what can be more tempting than the Oriental food that has spicy, sweet and savory items to offer.


Park Pavillion at the Tulip Inn with its sleek and spacious interiors will be 'the place to be' for the diners desirous of getting the flavours of Chinese, Korean, Indonesian and Thai cuisine right on their platters as the hotel kick starts its Oriental Food Festival- Cossroads of China on December 15.

The food served at the fest will be a spread of exotic vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes with innovation to keep the spirit of the orient but suit the sentiments of the local food lovers.

"Often our culture and religion dictate our way of life and most Indians refrain from trying international cuisines.But we definitely want our patrons to have the feel of various types of food and have made positive innovations even as we keep the taste perfect with every bite," said Rupam Banik, executive chef, Tulip Inn.

Some of the dishes on the menu include Veg Lollipop that is fried sugarcane stick coated with vegetables and tossed with sauce, egg wrapped fried rice served with khimchi and Chinese sauce, prawn tempura with khimchi and sauce and lamb dimsum among others.


Chinese Bhel

Desserts from the far east too have found place in the menu.

On the final note one can relish sankaya or coconut milk jaggery and duck egg pudding and date pan cake with ice cream.

The food fest will continue till Dec 31.
