The car in which state Home Minister Sabita Indra Reddy, who is also the East Godavari District Incharge was travelling during her visit to flood affected areas in Prattipadu Assembly Constituency, got punctured, near Dharmavaram on the national highway today.
However, the driver stopped the speeding car by applying brakes averting skidding and a possible accident. Two MLAs- Dwarampudi Chandrasekhara Reddy and Pantham Gandhi Mohan-- were also in the car.
Official sources said Ms Reddy got into another car and continued her visit to flood affected areas in Kirlampudi and Gollaprolu areas.
Minister for Animal Husbandry Pinipe Viswaroop and MLA Vanga Geeta also accompanied the Home Minister during the tour. Ms Sabita Indra Reddy interacted with farmers on the damages to the standing crops in all the areas and assured them that government would come to their rescue and purchase the discoloured paddy ensuring minimum support price.
