PM, Sonia inquire about floods in Andhra Pradesh
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi got in touch with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy last night and inquired about the flood and rain situation in the state.
Mr Singh and Ms Gandhi extended their sympathies to the victims and assured all support to the state.
The Chief Minister apprised them about the situation in detail and said he has been reviewing the situation, including and rehabilitation measures taken up by the government machinery.
The Chief Minister also informed them that he, along with ministers, would be visiting flood affected areas today to review the situation at the field level in the affected areas.
The Chief Minister thanked the two leaders for expressing their concern towards the state, an official release said.
