CCB police have busted an international Drug racket by arresting two people hailing from Tamil Nadu and seized ten kg of the banned drug Amphetamine at Bangalore International Airport here on the night of November 3.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) B Dayananda, addressing a press conference here today, said Khadar Ghani and Abhuth Tahir used to lure youths by offering free visit to Malaysia with free visa and other documents and bring electronic goods.
While returning from there, the duo used to pack drugs in their electronic goods and other luggage they purchased in Malaysia and bring it to India.
The seized drug was packed in 20 plastic packets and wrapped in coloured cloths.
Mr Dayananda said interrogation revealed that the arrested Abhuth Tahir had smuggled drugs from Malaysia, atleast ten times and used to take it to other countries as well and sell.
Cash Rs 9,500, their passports, Visa and some Malaysia currency were also seized from them.
