Prakash Reddy offers prayers at Tirumala temple

Union Minister of state for Railways Kotla Jaya Surya Prakash Reddy has offered prayers at the hill shrine of lord Venkateswara here today.

On his maiden visit to the temple town after taking charge as Railway Minister, Mr Reddy, who arrived here, had darshan of Lord Balaji during the VIP break.

After night halt at hill atop, the Mr Reddy who belongs to Rayalseema region, will inspect various places at Tirupati railway station tomorrow.

It may be mentioned here that the upgradation of Tirupati railway station into world class one announced by then Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav in 2006, was limited to papers and nothing was progressed.

The land for the world class was not identified so far by either the district administration or railway officials.

Earlier, on his arrival at the Tirupati, he was given warm welcome by the party leaders from Chittoor and other districts of Rayalaseema region.
