APTRANSCO Chairman and Managing Director Hiralal Samariya has said Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA) have sanctioned a loan of Rs 940 crore for executing the works of new substations under transmission system modernisation and strengthening project in Hyderabad metropolitan area.
The project is expected to be completed by June, 2014.
Mr Samariya, left for Germany yesterday, for detailed study on Extra High Tension (EHT) Underground cabling system and accessories. He will also visit Egypt for discussing issues with top level officials of power sector there.
Before leaving for Germany, Mr Samariya stated that the works of Under Ground EHT cabling system with connected substations in GHMC area are in full swing and being expedited to avoid electrical accidents and to improve the austerity of the twin cities, a release said here today.
Since the substations are located in GHMC area and due to the right of way problems for erecting tower lines in the dense populated area, it was necessitated for connecting these substations with Under Ground (UG) cabling system of 220 kV and 132 kV voltage levels, the release added.
