Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) today welcomed the Union Government's move to amend the Legal Metrology (Packaged commodities) Rules 2011 bringing 19 commodities of day-to-day use to be sold in specified standard packs.
FKCCI President K Shiva Shanmugam said this would enable consumers to compare the products vis-à-vis its price.
He said the Federation had been urging standardised packaging of these commodities and had submitted representations in this regard.
Mr Shanmugam has expressed hope that more products would be brought within the ambit of this Rule in the days to come.
