Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) Member K M Acharya today highlighted the need to promote educational facilities for poor and backward class girl students and differently-abled youths in a systematic way under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL).
Speaking after witnessing a corporate representation of RINL, Mr Acharya said as a big brother, RINL should support these initiatives in a continuous manner, according a Viskhapatnam Steel Plant spokesperson.
He suggested RINL management to evolve a representative committee involving district administration also while carrying out the CSR activities for effective implementation.
The officials of RINL explained that so far CSR activities were being carried out in around 25 villages out of the total identified 99 villages in and around VSP and neighboring areas of the region.
Mr Acharya also evinced keen interest to know the details of the MOU signed with NMDCfor Installation of 336 Km length Slurry Pipeline from Nagarnar, Jagdalpur to Visakhapatnam and a 4 Mtpa capacity Pellet Plant at Visakhapatnam.
Umesh Chandra, Director (Operations), explained that the slurry pipeline shall be the second one to terminate at Visakhapatnam in addition to the existing pipeline of Essar Steel.
