Media 'onslaught' led to collapse of moral values: Director
The 'onslaught' of visual media has resulted in collapse of moral values among children which needs to be looked into immediately to ensure restoration of the culture and tradition of the society, said noted Kannada film Director T S Nagabharana.
Speaking after inaugurating the three-day University Inter-Collegiate Cultural and Literary contest-2012 here, he quoted an incident in which a school boy asks his father to give a gun as a birthday gift so that he could shoot his teacher contrary to the earlier days when children used to ask for gifts of different kind.
More then 1000 students from various colleges affiliated to University of Mysore took part.
During the three-day cultural extravaganza, the students would be taking part in various competitions like light music, devotional songs, film songs, folk songs, debate in English and Kannada, quiz, mono acting etc., at five different places.
