The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) notched up 14 out of the 17 seats at stake in the Jawahar Municipal Council elections, according to results declared here today.
The BJP and the Bahujan Vikas Aghadi (BVA), led by Hitendra Thakur, drew a blank.
In this election, there was no alliance between the Congress and NCP, the ruling partners in the state.
The Shiv Sena had to be satisfied with just two seats, while the Congress survived the onslaught with just one seat.
All political parties had made this election a prestige issue.
