The Left Democratic Front (LDF) in this district of Kerala will take out a march and stage dharna in protest against the 'anti-cooperative' movement adopted by the Congress-led United Democratic Front in the state on November 7.
Talking to reporters here today, LDF leader and former Kozhikode Mayor M Bhaskaran alleged the UDF, since assuming power in the state had adopted a policy aimed at sabotaging the cooperative sector.
Without citing any reason the Oommen Chandy Government had dissoved the governing bodies of the state and district cooperative banks nine months ago, three years before expiry of its term.
After dissolving the bonafide cooperative bodies, the government had made it a practice to give approval to unauthorised cooperative sanghs/societies when the banks in the sector were facing hurdles due to 'faulty' policies of the Centre, he alleged.
