Rupee slips by 33 paise to 54.14 against USD

The Rupee was down by 33 paise to 54.14 against the US Dollar in the opening session today following rise in demand for the greenback from banks and importers, dealers at the Interbank Foreign Exchange said.
The rupee registered the day's high and low at 54.17 and 54.02 per US Dollar respectively with a major fluctuation.
Dollar's gain against other world currencies and weak opening also put the Indian Currency down, dealers added.
