Artistes from across India depict rich folklore during dance festival in Jaipur
Dancers from across India recently took part in the Lok Rang Festival in Jaipur, Rajasthan, showcasing India's rich art and culture.
Donning vibrant attire, the artistes performed folk dances that were cheered by the audience.
The annual event was organised by the Jawahar Kala Kendra and witnessed participation of artistes from almost every nook and corner of the country.
On of the organisers, Sandeep Madaan, said that over 1200 artists shared a common floor to perform their regional art.
"Folk artistes from over 22 states have gathered here to participate in the 19th edition of Lokrang festival. This is national level folk festival during which traditional dances from Indian states far and wide are presented," said Madaan.
Artists from 21 states participated in the event to showcase rare and antique folk dance performances of their respective states.
The organizers said they received a good response from the audiences.
"We have just performed the traditional folk dance of Haryana named 'Ghodi'. This dance is symbolic and a part of wedding celebrations carried out traditionally," said Neha, a participant.
According to participants, the festival gave them an opportunity to showcase their talent and perform with their traditional instruments on a bigger platform.
